If FF is offering to open the file with BitComet, then BC must have associated itself with BIN files. Check Windows Control Panel > Folder Options > File types and see what's going on. If BC is associated with BINs, you can either delete the entry, or change the association and the default actions. You might also check BitComet's options to see if you can remove the association there. On my WinXP system, BIN is not associated with anything, so the FF default is 'Save'. BitComet is, AFAIK, a BitTorrent client, so I would expect it to be associated with.TORRENT and perhaps.MAGNET. HTH Dave Menno Hershberger 06.10.10 18:14. Also if I 'run' one in IE, it comes up in Notepad. I did find a couple of options in BitComet that looked questionable and unchecked them, but I really don't think that's it. It only happens in Firefox. I'm going to uninstall BitComet and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions. -- --- Long live Fat32! --- Menno Hershberger 06.10.10 18:34. If I click on that, it opens in notepad. I also have the save file option but the 'do this automatically for files like this from now on' is greyed out. Oh well, at least I got rid of the BitComet association. And BitComet too.:-) -- --- Long live Fat32!
